Seakayaking Reloncavi Fjord (1 Day)

At 8 AM we will start driving from Puerto Varas to Ensenda enjoying some beautilful views of Osorno Volcanoe, right north of LLanquihue lake, the second biggest of Chile.



Then we will continue to Ralún , our starting point, where the clear waters of Petrohue river meets the salt water of the Pacific Ocean at the Reloncavi Fjord , the first fjord of Patagonia.

After receiving a complete safety talk and practising some paddling strokes we will start our navigation with wonderful views of Yates volcanoe, green hillsides , fisherman villages, variety of sea birds , pelicans, good possibilities to see dolphins and sealions.

As we will be travelling in small groups , paddling slowly and quietly , we will have good opportunities to enjoy the flight of a variety of birds , the colours of the the clouds reflecting in the water , and the magnificent sound of the silence. We will stop for lunch on a beach and enjoy stunning surroundings with the Patagonian Andes in the background. Return to Puerto Varas.

Includes

• Transportation in private vehicle from your Hotel in Puerto Varas to Reloncavi Fjord and back to Puerto Varas.
• Seakayak equipment:
  Double seakayak with original rudder, seakayak paddles , lifejacket , sprayskirt and paddling jacket
• Complete Safety Talk and practice of strokes and simulation of a rescue.
• Box-Lunch .
• English speaking seakayak guide , recognized by the British Canoe Union as a BCU 4STAR Seakayak Award with NOLS Trainning.
• VHF marine radio , celular telephone, chart.
• Visit Cochamó village and it´s beautiful church.
• Limited insurance once the seakayak trip starts with Interamericana Insurance Company (chilean company)

Requirements

• To know how to swim. 
• Contemplative attitude and respect for the existing ecosystem. 
• Physical state and health compatible with the activity to be performed. 
• Previous indication of any illness or health problem .
• You'll find your trip even more enjoyable if you remember to bring flexibility and a sense of humor with you.
• Understand that this is team activity in the outdoors and the participation of each person at each stage is fundamental.  
• Before the trip you must send by fax the  Release of Liability form signed.

Observations

•  The trip has been planned with the consideration of those without previous experience.
  Before we begin our great trip,  we will have a complete discussion and practice session covering rescue techniques and paddling maneuvers so that our participants feel more comfortable during the trip and can really enjoy the beautiful views that they encounter. 
• To improve the enjoyment of our customers, we use very stable and confortable seakayaks imported from USA , Germany and Canada.
• You have chosen Patagonia , a place where the weather is unpredicatble, so we can have sun but also rainny days , very relaxing days but also windy conditions.
• The trip will take place even if it rains.
• We will paddle aprox. 4 hours , with stops in between.

Note: We must mention that the success of this type of trip is subject to the weather as well the personality of the person, therefore an adventure spirit and good disposition will be fundamental.
